Performance doesn't have to be heavy – the thermal imaging attachment Orion O635CS from Guide impresses with its low weight and excellent results, even under the most adverse conditions. With the thermal imaging attachments of the Orion C series, Guide has revolutionized the interaction of hardware and software, that is, the sensor and the image-generating algorithms, with its ApexVision-S1 system architecture. The ApexCore-S1 detector and the Nexus-1.0 platform capture objects fluidly and without freezing, even during rapid movements, and the AI-supported Hyper-Light 2.0 delivers contrast-rich and detailed images from the data, identifying the target and enabling the optimal shot. The thermal imaging attachment Orion O635CS is the most powerful device in the series.
The Sensor
The high-resolution 640×512 px sensor with a 12 μm pixel pitch and an excellent NETD value of ≤15 mK detects even the smallest thermal differences in conjunction with the 35 mm F0.9 lens, even when fog, rain, or snow equalizes temperatures due to humidity. The detection range is 1,800 m, and the field of view of 22x17 m at 100 m ensures a good overview.
The Display
The Orion O635CS features a large 0.49-inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1,920x1,080 px and an intuitive menu navigation. Depending on the hunting situation and individual preferences, 7 color palettes are available: White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia. The representation of the game occurs with a latency of only 26 ms, almost in real-time, significantly reducing the risk of missed shots. The Hyper-Light 2.0 AI algorithm generates AI-supported brilliant, detailed images, where contrast and brightness optimally adapt to the environment. Potential targets are highlighted and thus remain in view.
The Device
Weighing in at 285 g, the Orion O635CS is indeed a lightweight that does not significantly affect the balance of the rifle. It is suitable for almost all calibers with a shock resistance of up to 6,000. 5 correction profiles can be stored. It is waterproof and dustproof according to IP67 standard. After pressing the start button, the attachment is ready for use in 3 seconds. With its simply and logically placed buttons and the large precise focus wheel, operation is intuitive, even in cold weather and with gloves. The device is powered by 1 rechargeable 18500 battery. Its charge lasts for up to 7 hours, and swapping with the included spare battery can be done in no time. The Orion devices have an M33.5x0.75 thread.
