Sauer 505 ErgoMax Black Elegance Left-Handed Rifle

The Sauer 505 ErgoMax Black for left-handed shooters comes in the Elegance version with some exquisite optical highlights.

With the Sauer 505 bolt-action rifle – here in the left-handed version – a solid steel receiver, which weighs only 732 g due to optimal machining, an ergonomically shaped polymer stock, and some elegant features come together to create a truly special hunting rifle.

DLC Coating
In the Elegance version, the surfaces of the barrel and housing are refined with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond like Carbon". This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components are particularly resistant and very smooth.

Sun Cut
The bolt of the Sauer 505 repeating rifle ErgoMax Black Elegance is refined with a sun cut. In this process, the surface is treated with a grinding wheel in such a way that a sunbeam-like iridescence radiates from the center. When you move the treated surface, the angle of incidence of the light changes, and the ground area seems to rotate in a circle. The ball of the chamber grip is knurled and decorated with the Sauer screw.

The Stock
The name ErgoMax says it all: maximum ergonomics. The robust, elegantly designed two-part Ergo-Max polymer stock with a straight back is also compatible with the Sauer 404, its buttstock has a length of 36.5 cm. The grip surfaces have elastomer inserts that remain slip-resistant even in rain or when wearing gloves. The pistol grip feels pleasant in the shooting hand, which remains relaxed at all times. Polymer is a very durable plastic; adverse environmental conditions do not affect it. The material is lightweight, providing a solid all-round hunting rifle.

The System: Steel Housing and Steel Bolt
The system of the Sauer 505 consists of a solid steel housing and a one-piece bolt, which is also made of steel and manufactured from a single piece. This results in low friction, leading to a smooth chambering and quiet cycling.

The Manual Cocking
The manual cocking of the Sauer 505 rifle has undergone further development, both in terms of usability and safety. A longer cocking travel requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, you can cock your rifle immediately before the shot, and just as easily relax it afterwards to perform the unloading.

The Trigger
The Sauer 505 rifle features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings, ensuring a crystal-clear break and the exact trigger weight you desire. The four weight settings are 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key when the fore-end is uncocked. With a trigger that is always dry and free of play, the risk of a shot being pulled due to a malfunction is nearly zero. The trigger guard is made of aluminum in the Elegance version.

The Barrel
The cold-hammered barrel of the Sauer 505 rifle allows for extremely precise results. Its length is determined by the caliber size and ranges between 47 and 62 cm. It has a smooth profile, is DLC-coated, has no sights, and is equipped with an M15x1 muzzle thread.

The Magazine
The magazine is made of polymer, making it lighter, while the base is made of lightweight metal in the Elegance version. It is designed for the chosen calibers and holds 2 or 3 cartridges depending on the caliber. An unintentional release of the magazine button is prevented by the integrated magazine safety MagLock.
