The 629-3 Classic Revolver was developed by Smith & Wesson as a powerful hunting and sport revolver. In the strong caliber .44Rem Mag as a hunting and self-defense weapon for hunting large, dangerous game. As a precise sport revolver in the pleasant and precisely shootable caliber .44Special (from the caliber .44RemMag, the target cartridge .44Special can also be fired). The Classic model was manufactured in high quality and in solid stainless steel execution with a matte brushed finish. Heavy 6 1/2 inch precision barrel, ⌀ 1.9 cm with extra wide, anti-glare lined sight rail and inserted step bead with red fiber optic. The solid frame bridge has 3 holes for mounting a scope and a milled groove with long guide for secure hold of the height and windage adjustable rear sight. The sighting is black blued. The rear sight cutout is framed in white for better contrast. Underlug with cylinder axis mount under the barrel to the muzzle made from solid material. Also serves as a barrel weight for precise shooting and reduces recoil and muzzle rise. Thick-walled fluted cylinder for 6 cartridges. Very fine single-action trigger as match trigger, the double-action trigger can be pulled pleasantly smoothly. Original Smith & Wesson rubber grip panels textured with finger grooves. Due to the stainless version, easy to care for and well protected even in bad weather. Original markings/stamps: Barrel left = Smith & Wesson, Underlug = .44MAGNUM. Barrel right = 629 Classic.
