The Merkel K5 is tuned for dynamic elegance – and yet 100 percent functional. The newly defined line of the rifle stretches from the buttstock with its lightweight pig back over the front stock extended with fine rosewood to the 17 mm thick barrel like a big cat in a leap.
Brilliant technology in a new look-and-feel: The tipping block is extremely short and locks steel on steel in typical Merkel fashion. Technical finesse, a new line from stock, system, and barrel, as well as refined functionality: In total, a rifle with only 2.3 kilograms net weight and in top dimensions.
The removable tipping block lock is the heart of the K5: It locks steel on steel, is extremely lightweight, short, and safe. The titanium-nitrided lock block is removable, making the weapon quickly and easily non-firing. The locking system with removable hunter tipping block lock features a separate manual cocking.
The new manual cocking operates completely silently and is even easier to use - almost no force is needed in the finger anymore. The revised trigger system is length and side adjustable. With a trigger weight of only 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the Merkel K5 can be easily operated with any finger and hand shape.
Pistol grip, fore-end, and patent catch are elegantly finished with ebony. The buttstock of wood class 4 features removable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheek piece with double fold.
The barrels with a diameter of 17 mm feature the universal i-Sight system with covered M15x1 muzzle thread. With a single internal hex screw, the rear sight and front sight can be disassembled, and the front sight can also be repositioned – depending on whether shooting is to be done with a silencer, without sighting, or with a muzzle brake.
The sling swivels are equipped with the new system of the Merkel Helix Speedster and are therefore also removable.
