The Optics
The X-Pro 8x42 is equipped with ED glass that delivers razor-sharp, high-contrast, and detail-rich images with high edge sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration. The transmission value is over 90%, which still leads to good results even in problematic lighting conditions. The lenses are FMC multi-coated, which reduces reflections. The close focus limit is only 1.5 m, allowing observations, such as those of insects, at the shortest distances. The eyecups are adjustable and lockable for use with glasses.

The Housing
The optical performance comes with a low weight of under 900 g and compact dimensions of 152×120×67 mm. The ergonomically thought-out design is kept classically simple, the feel of the housing surface is extremely pleasant, the operation is intuitive, and the instrument remains grippy even when used in the rain or with gloves. To prevent internal fogging, the housing is filled with nitrogen, and the binoculars are waterproof up to a depth of 1 m for 30 minutes.
