The submachine gun 40 was produced by Erma and Steyr from 1940 to 1944. The very maneuverable and compact MP40 was manufactured over 1 million times during this period. The no less well-known predecessors are the MP36 and the MP38.

The semi-automatic rifle with mass lock in caliber 9x19mm features a housing and grip made of zinc die-cast, a barrel made of cold-forged special steel, a machined steel bolt, a locking mechanism for optimal precision, a strong extractor claw, and an active ejector as well as a folding rear sight. The delivery includes five interchangeable sights.
Approved for sport shooting.

This model is approved for sport shooting, as the original weapon appeared in its construction, type, and appearance before September 2, 1945.
