Pulsar Symbion LRF DXT50

The multispectral binocular for observations at any time of day and night, Symbion LRF DXT50 from Pulsar, is the model in the series with an extremely large field of view.In addition to handheld and attachment devices, Pulsar now also offers multispectral binoculars with the Symbion series. They are available in two versions, among which the Symbion LRF DXT50, with its large thermal field of view of 30.7 m at 100 m, is ideal for those who want to capture a wide area at a glance.

Both devices are equipped with a powerful 4K sensor with a resolution of 3,840×2,160 px for use during the day or at dusk, as well as a thermal imaging sensor for detecting thermal differences whenever and wherever needed, at night or during the day in fog, dense vegetation, and thickets. Additionally, the Symbion models feature a laser rangefinder and an infrared illuminator for use in problematic lighting conditions.

The Sensor
The Symbion LRF DXT50 binoculars have a highly sensitive thermal imaging sensor with excellent thermal differentiation capability. Its high resolution is 1,280x1,024 px with a pixel pitch of 12 µm and a NETD value of ≤40 mK. The detection range for an object the size of a deer is up to 2,300 m. The 50 mm lens with an F1.0 aperture provides an extremely large field of view of 30.7 m, allowing you to keep everything in sight.

The Display
The image processing algorithms developed in-house by Pulsar convert the received data into sharp, detailed, and high-contrast images. They also offer the option to enhance image quality under difficult conditions in the three modes "Normal," "Ultra," and "High" through the "Gain" option. The 1,920x1,080 px AMOLED display features a picture-in-picture function that shows either a zoomed image of the observation object or an image from the other channel (thermal / digital) in a frame in the upper display area, depending on the need. Brightness and contrast can be adjusted on a scale from 0 to 20. Depending on situational needs, 9 color palettes are available:

Hot White, Hot Black, Green, and Hot Red are optimal for object detection,Rainbow and Ultramarine for identification, andRed Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet for nighttime long-term observations.

IR Illuminator / Laser Rangefinder
The focusable infrared illuminator is switchable, and its power can be adjusted in the "Low," "Medium," and "High" settings depending on observation conditions and distance to the object. It emits at a wavelength of 850 nm.

The powerful laser rangefinder has a range of 1,500 m. The distance can be determined as a scan with continuous sampling and a precise point measurement. With the True Horizontal Distance (THD) function, the actual horizontal distance to an object can be determined based on the elevation angle value.

Ease of Use
The one-handed operable Symbion LRF DXT50 also impresses with its tactile qualities. It fits well in the hand, which does not cramp even during prolonged use. The arrangement of the controls on the top makes it intuitively operable with both hands. The two zoom wheels for the thermal and digital channels are adequately sized and allow for precise adjustment.

The Device
The housing of the binoculars is made of a magnesium alloy, protecting the sensitive interior from impacts, falls, moisture, and extreme temperatures; even the most challenging environmental conditions are no issue, with an operating temperature range of -25 to 40 °C. The device is waterproof according to IP67. With its dimensions of 207.0x132.0x72.5 mm and a total weight of 1 kg, it is easy to carry.

Long Operating Time
The Symbion LRF DXT50 binoculars are powered by a rechargeable Pulsar APS 5 battery, with a spare battery included in the package. Both batteries ensure an operating time of up to 8 hours, depending on activated features. The spare battery can be quickly and easily replaced during use. A charger is also included.

Camera and Connectivity
The integrated camera allows for documenting observations as photos and videos with sound. The internal 64 GB memory stores data locally, and via the Steam Vision 2 app – available for iOS and Android – they can be transferred to a mobile device using the integrated Wi-Fi module. This way, you also receive current software updates. The Steam Vision Ballistics app is also supported, which determines the optimal shot based on the data generated with the Symbion. This connection is made via Bluetooth.
