FAQ
Is round-nose ammunition better for my magazine?
In almost all cases, yes. Hollow point ammunition can sometimes jam on steep ramps; the round-nose shape of the PRN minimizes this risk almost completely.
Does the bullet expand upon impact?
No, the PRN is designed for shape stability. It deforms upon hitting hard targets but does not expand in soft tissue like a hollow point.
Can I shoot at 100m with this?
Yes, the inherent accuracy is absolutely sufficient for training at 100m, although one must consider the bullet drop compared to 50m.
Is the ammunition suitable for modern AR-15 clones in .22 lr?
Absolutely. These firearms often require the strong HV impulse and a smooth feed – both are provided by the Ranch Hand PRN.
Is there a difference between Brass-Plated and Copper-Plated?
Both serve the same purpose: lubrication and cleanliness. The brass coating from Remington is slightly harder than pure copper coatings.
Conclusion / Purchase Argument
The Remington Ranch Hand 40grs PRN is the cartridge for anyone who wants to avoid jams. Solid, clean, and uncompromisingly functional.
