The thermal imaging monocular Wild 650DL Pro from ThermTec features two lenses of different focal lengths as well as a laser rangefinder.ThermTec has optimized its proven thermal imaging device – including an improved NETD value and a larger display – and equipped it as the Wild 650DL Pro with a laser rangefinder. With the monocular, you are perfectly equipped for all hunting situations, both in the forest, where a large field of view is required, and in open terrain, where strong magnification factors are important. The Wild 650DL Pro has a dedicated F0.9 lens for each of these two scenarios, one with a diameter of 25 mm and one with 50 mm. The 12 µm sensor with a detection range of 1,300 m (25 mm) and 2,600 m (50 mm), the integrated laser rangefinder, and the intuitive operation make it an ideal hunting companion. The Wild 650DL Pro offers a 1-4x digital zoom and a magnification of 1.8x to 3.6x for details at great distances. With moderate dimensions and a weight of 653 g with battery, it is handy for any hunting at night and also during the day in dense foliage or in overcast and foggy weather.
The Sensor
The Wild 650DL Pro is equipped with a sensitive thermal imaging sensor with a resolution of 640x512 px, a pixel pitch of 12 µm, and a NETD value of ≤15 mK. This guarantees very good thermal differentiation performance. The frame rate is 50 Hz, providing clear, detailed, and high-contrast images. The detection range of the monocular is 1,300 m with the 25 mm lens. It has an enormous field of view of 30.7x24.6 m at 100 m. With the 50 mm lens, a large detection range of 2,600 m is achieved, with a field of view of still 15.4x12.3 m at 100 m. Switching between the lenses is easily done via a rotary knob.
The Display
The 0.5“ 1,600×1,200 px AMOLED display features a helpful picture-in-picture function. This shows a zoomed image of the observation object in a frame when needed, without losing the overall view. Depending on individual needs and the observation situation, you can choose between 6 color palettes to adjust the image: white-hot, black-hot, red-hot, green, gold, and violet. Additionally, a target outline mode is available. Sharpness, noise, brightness, and contrast can be manually adjusted in 10 levels. An electronic image stabilization ensures steady observation, even when hands tremble in cold weather or after exertion. Image correction can be done automatically and manually. A self-learning and adaptive AI technology optimizes the image correction algorithm with each image correction. Menu symbols can be disabled during video recording. When disturbances from external light sources occur, the Wild 650DL Pro device automatically activates an anti-burn protection. During use, you can choose between a forest and a rain mode.
The Device
The Wild 650DL Pro is very quickly ready for operation after being turned on. It has an excellent feel and fits perfectly in the hand, which does not cramp even during prolonged use. The lens cover opens and closes completely silently. The controls on the top make it perfectly manageable with both hands. Difficult environmental conditions are no problem for observation; the device's housing is made of a magnesium alloy with a rubber coating, and it is dust and waterproof according to IP67. The F0.9 lens of the Wild 650DL Pro significantly increases light intake compared to the usual F1.0 lenses.
The Laser Rangefinder
With the integrated laser rangefinder of safety class 1 in the Wild 650DL Pro device, the distances to multiple targets can be determined with a single measurement using the "multi-target distance" option. The laser has a wavelength of 905 nm. The maximum measuring range is 1,000 m with a measurement accuracy of ±1 m. This way, you always know exactly how far the object is and can make the right shooting decision.
Battery Life
The replaceable Li-ion 18650 battery allows for operation of the Wild 650DL Pro thermal imaging device for up to 6 hours, depending on the activated features. The battery is easy to replace in no time. Charging is done in the included charger. A spare battery is included in the package.
Camera and Connectivity
Using the integrated camera, observations and the tracking of game can be documented as photos and videos. The internal memory has a capacity of 64 GB. Using the ThermTec Outdoor App – available for iOS and Android – the thermal imaging device can be connected to a mobile device via the integrated hotspot, and images and videos can be transmitted in real-time to its monitor. Additionally, the Wild 650DL Pro can be remotely controlled through this app. The device can also be directly connected to a computer via USB to download and install the latest software updates.
