Absolutely unbeatable: the Sauer 505 repeater with the new Iconic wood stock in the mountain hunting suitable Highland equipment package as a complete offer with an optic of your choice. For two years, the Sauer 505 repeating rifle has been impressing with its modular individual configurability and pre-configured by Sauer in special equipment packages. Now, the components have been expanded with another module: the extravagant Iconic walnut stock. This is also available as part of the Highland package. In this equipment package named after the Scottish Highlands, Sauer has particularly focused on the combination of style and functionality as well as weight and handling. We are now completing this high-quality equipment package with a brand optic of your choice.
Here are the components of the offer:
the Sauer 505 in the Iconic Highland packagewith a stock in wood class 3 or 5,in a caliber of your choice,a barrel length of your choice, depending on the caliber,a magazine capacity of your choice, depending on the caliber,a scope of your choice, the original Sauer saddle mount andthe mounting and zeroing.
The Stock
The new Iconic stock from Sauer is a two-part hole stock made of walnut, available in wood classes 3 and 5, finished with a polished surface. Ergonomics and aesthetics are equally innovative. The steep pistol grip with a pronounced palmswell and the optimally sized thumbhole keep the shooting hand and arm in a constantly relaxed state, allowing for an intuitive movement when shouldering. The straight stock back transitions into the cheek piece in a curved, flowing line. The fore-end also has a slightly curved shape, which is accentuated by a drop nose made of black ebony. The checkering on the grip surfaces feels pleasantly tactile in the hands. The length of pull is 365 mm, capped with a recoil-absorbing cap in black.
The System
The solid steel housing of the 505 allows for a smooth chambering and quiet cycling due to reduced friction. The surfaces of the housing and, in this configuration, the chamber are coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components are particularly resistant and very smooth. The hand cocking of the 505 is comfortable and safe. A longer cocking path requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, the rifle is cocked just before the shot and then released to fire. The Sauer 505 features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings. Thus, the trigger breaks crystal clear at the precisely individually fitting trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the fore-end is removed. The knurled chamber handle ball fits visually perfectly into the overall design. Depending on the caliber, the magazine can be chosen between a capacity of 2 or 3 rounds and 5 rounds.
The Barrel
The cold-hammered barrel of the Sauer 505 rifle is fluted in the Highland package. This offers the advantage that the increased surface area of the barrel due to the fluting dissipates heat faster, so that even with high shot sequences, no disturbing mirage occurs. Another advantage of the fluting is the weight reduction. The muzzle is equipped with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It is without sights, and its length is optionally between 47 cm and 62 cm, partly depending on the caliber. The barrel of the Sauer 505 Highland is effectively protected against corrosion by a DLC coating, just like its other steel surfaces. By the way, the barrel is compatible with the Sauer 404, so it can be used with the older rifle.
The Scope
The scope is mounted on the Sauer 505 saddle mount. The repeating rifle is equipped with a device for this mount. Four subtle recesses at the level of the cartridge chamber hold it without tension, allowing the barrel to continue to oscillate freely. No further adjustments to the rifle are necessary. With this system, you avoid impairments caused by a mounting base. After a one-time zeroing, you can easily dismount and remount the scope without affecting accuracy. With the Sauer saddle mount, you can also use various optics on the same rifle. You have the choice between the following scopes:
