Sauer 505 Iconic Elegance

With the pre-configured Elegance package from Sauer, the name says it all: the 505 repeater with high-quality features and the new Iconic hole stock in the elegant wood class 5.With the new Iconic hole stock made of fine walnut, Sauer celebrates the two-year success story of the 505 repeater rifle. This new stock has also been included in the pre-configured Elegance equipment package from Sauer, where no luxury has been spared. The highlights of this package at a glance:

The caliber can be chosen from a wide range of mini, standard, and magnum caliber groups, and the barrel length can also be freely selected depending on the caliber.

The Stock
The new Iconic stock from J.P. Sauer & Sohn is a two-part hole stock made of walnut, here in the elegant class 5 and with a polished finish. The stock impresses with its perfect ergonomics and its aesthetically pleasing design, fitting excellently into the Elegance package. The steep pistol grip with a pronounced palmswell and the optimally sized thumb hole allow the shooting hand and arm to remain in a relaxed state, enabling intuitive aiming. The straight stock back transitions into the cheek piece in a curved, flowing line. The forend also has a slightly curved shape, which is accentuated by a drop nose made of black ebony. The checkered texture on the grip surfaces feels pleasant in the hands. The length of pull is 365 mm, capped with a 15 mm thick recoil-absorbing cap in black.

The System
The solid steel housing of the 505 allows for a smooth chamber operation and quiet cycling due to reduced friction. The surfaces of the housing are coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. The coated components are particularly resistant and very smooth due to a thin-film coating process. The hand tensioning of the 505 is comfortable and safe. A longer tensioning path requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, the rifle is tensioned just before the shot and then released to perform the discharge. The Sauer 505 features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings. Thus, the trigger breaks crystal clear at the precisely individually suitable trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the forend is detached. This version also features a trigger guard made of robust aluminum, and the anodized aluminum chamber grip ball is textured and equipped with the Sauer screw. The magazine with a lightweight metal base can be chosen between a capacity of 2 or 3 shots and 5 shots, depending on the caliber.

The Chamber with Sun Cut
A special optical highlight of the Elegance version of the 505 is the sun cut that adorns the chamber. In this cut, the surface is processed with a grinding wheel in such a way that a sunbeam-like iridescence radiates from the center. When the treated surface is moved, the angle of incidence of the light changes, and the ground area appears to rotate in a circle.

The Barrel
The Sauer 505 repeater rifle in the Elegance configuration is equipped with a cold-hammered barrel. This allows for highly precise shots. The muzzle is fitted with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It has a smooth profile without sights, and its length varies – partly depending on the caliber – between 42 cm and 62 cm. The barrel of the Sauer 505 Elegance is effectively protected against corrosion by a DLC coating, just like its other steel surfaces. The barrel is also compatible with the Sauer 404 repeater, allowing it to be used with the older rifle.
