Sauer 505 Iconic Outback

The 505 repeater in the pre-configured Outback package from Sauer and with the new Iconic hole stock in wood class 3 or 5 – an extremely robust hunting rifle for all occasions.On the second birthday of the 505 repeater rifle, Sauer presents a new stock: the Iconic hole stock made of walnut wood. This new stock is now also available as a module in Sauer's pre-configured packages, including the Outback package.

The Australian wilderness gave this package its name, and accordingly, the equipment of this version of the Sauer 505 repeater rifle is designed for use under the toughest conditions. The highlights of this package at a glance:

The Stock
The new Iconic stock from Sauer is a two-part hole stock made of walnut wood, available in wood classes 3 and 5, finished with a polished surface. The stock impresses with its thoughtful ergonomics and its perfectly crafted aesthetics. The steep pistol grip with a pronounced palmswell and the optimally sized thumb hole keep the shooting hand and arm in a relaxed position, allowing for an intuitive shooting stance. The straight stock back transitions into the cheek piece in a curved, flowing line. The fore-end also has a slightly curved shape, which is accentuated by a drop nose made of black ebony. The checkering texture on the grip surfaces feels pleasantly tactile in the hands. The length of pull is 365 mm, finished with a 15 mm thick recoil-absorbing cap in black.

The System
The solid steel housing of the 505 allows for a smooth chambering and quiet cycling due to reduced friction. The surfaces of the housing are coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. The coated components are particularly resistant and very smooth due to a thin-film coating process. The hand tensioning of the 505 is comfortable and safe. A longer tensioning path requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, the rifle is tensioned just before the shot and then released to perform the discharge. The Sauer 505 features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings. Thus, the trigger breaks crystal clear at the precisely individually fitting trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the fore-end is removed. The chamber grip ball is made of black anodized aluminum. The removable magazine can be chosen between a capacity of 2 or 3 shots and 5 shots, depending on the caliber.

The Barrel
The Sauer 505 repeater rifle in the Outback version is equipped with a cold-hammered barrel that allows for highly precise shots. The muzzle is fitted with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It has a smooth profile without sights, and its length is optionally between 42 cm and 62 cm, partly depending on the caliber. The barrel of the Sauer 505 Outback is effectively protected against corrosion by a DLC coating, just like its other steel surfaces. By the way, the barrel is compatible with the Sauer 404, allowing it to be used with the older rifle.
