The PUMA SGB Trapper Wood is a classic American-inspired pocket knife with two equally long but differently shaped blades – a clip-point blade and a spey blade – made of stainless 1.4116 steel (55–57 HRC). The 90 mm long handle is equipped with fine Jacaranda wood scales and polished brass bolsters. As is typical for classic trapper knives, the PUMA SGB Trapper Wood does not feature a locking mechanism. Instead, it uses a slip-joint mechanism that holds the blades in an open position through spring pressure but allows for controlled folding at any time. This makes the knife § 42a compliant and can be legally carried in Germany, as it is neither one-handed opening nor has a fixed lock. The blades are opened using traditional nail nicks, which adds to the knife's nostalgic charm. With a blade length of 71 mm and a weight of approximately 85 g, it is compact, handy, and versatile – ideal for outdoor activities, hunting, or as a stylish collector's item.
The SGB line from our overseas representative "PUMA Knife Company USA" includes several knife models in traditional style that have proven themselves in American hunting grounds and can also serve well in German hunting areas. All knives in the SGB series feature blades made of German steel according to DIN 1.4116!
Since we process natural products, color and structure deviations are possible - each knife is unique.
