ThermTec Wild 635 – compact thermal imaging monocular with high detail depth

The ThermTec Wild 635 is designed for situations where overview and clear detail recognition matter. It operates quietly, displays clear contrasts, and remains reliable even when temperature differences are minimal. This makes it suitable for nocturnal wildlife observation as well as for monitoring field edges or clearings.

Sensor and Image Processing
At the heart of the device is a 640 × 512 thermal imaging sensor with a thermal sensitivity of NETD ≤ 18 mK. This low NETD value makes a practical difference: fine temperature differences become visible, and contours remain clear, even when wildlife and surroundings offer little contrast.

The sensor is supported by AI-assisted image correction, which continuously adapts to weather, humidity, and temperature. The image remains stable over extended periods without frequent calibration pauses.

Lens and Range
The 35-mm lens offers a balanced ratio of field of view and range. With a detection distance of up to 1,800 meters, wildlife remains visible early without losing image overview. This allows for targeted observation, especially in structurally rich terrain.

Display and Representation
The integrated AMOLED display with 1024 × 768 pixels presents the thermal image with high contrast and stability. Six color palettes, along with the forest and target modes, allow for adaptation to different hunting situations and personal viewing habits.

Operation and Haptics
Focusing via a finger wheel and control via a joystick are designed for one-handed operation. The magnesium housing is well-balanced in the hand, feels torsionally rigid, and is designed for long-term use in the field. Weighing around 475 g, the device remains easy to handle, even during extended observations.

Practical Functions
Functions such as heat tracking, picture-in-picture, and AI distance measurement support observation without overwhelming the user. Video and image recordings can be stored internally and transferred via the app when needed.

Power Supply and Connectivity
The replaceable 18650 battery allows for a runtime of about 8 hours. Via Wi-Fi and the ThermTec app, recordings can be transferred, settings adjusted, and firmware updates performed. The housing is protected against dust and water according to IP67.
