It is excellent as outerwear when it is a bit cool and windy, but you can also wear it as an insulating mid-layer under a waterproof shell jacket in rainy and cold weather. The material has also been treated with a DWR finish, so while the jacket is not waterproof, it is both water and dirt repellent. Additionally, it features a high collar for neck protection.
