Norinco TT-Olympia
The sport pistol from a collector's inventory belongs to the first export batches of the TT-Olympia to Europe, which were manufactured between 1989 and 1991.
Approximately 5,000 units were produced from the early series; this weapon with the serial number 2130 was likely manufactured around 1990 and is rarely offered on the market.
Features of the Early Series
✔ Early grip panels
Typical for the first production years:
light, relatively coarse-grained wooddeeply cut diamond patternslightly irregular contours
This variant is currently more sought after by collectors than the later smoother grip panels.
✔ Early “TT-Olympia Pistol–Cal. 22 l.r.” engraving layout
✔ Export markings / proof marks
The small markings on the slide are typical for import through Europe (often Germany or Belgium).
These also help to date the weapon to the early 90s.
✔ Bluing
The slight cloudiness and scratch marks are typical for early Norinco production.
The zinc/steel mixtures in some parts of the early series often showed quick wear at the edges — this is clearly visible on your pistol at the slide and frame.
