The LMT Defense Swiss Sniper SSGW 20 is the new designated marksman rifle of the Swiss Army — developed by Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT) based on the proven MARS-H platform. Designed for specialized units such as the Army Reconnaissance Detachment 10 (AAD 10) and the Military Police Special Detachment, the SSGW 20 combines maximum precision, robustness, and modularity in a tactical DMR system.

Product Description

The SSGW 20 is a modern Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) in caliber .308 Winchester / 7.62×51 mm NATO. Its monolithic housing, free-floating M-LOK handguard, and fully ambidextrous controls make the system extremely adaptable for various operational purposes. The robust Cerakote finish in Flat Dark Earth provides resistance to weather and abrasion while giving the rifle a tactical, discreet finish.

A precise two-stage (match-grade) trigger ensures consistent, clean shooting behavior. The rifle uses standardized AR-10 / SR-25 10-round magazines and is optics-ready with a continuous rail — optimal for scopes and other aiming devices. With the introduction of the SSGW 20, the army is gradually replacing older systems (e.g., STGW 12 / SIG 751 SAPR) and providing specialized forces with a modern precision rifle that meets current tactical requirements.
