Note from Triple K:
Manufactured by Colt using Browning patents, from 1903 to 1945.
The first series ended in 1911 with the serial number 72,000.
The second series differed from the first by a shortened barrel length of 3 3/4 inches (previously 4 inches).
This series ended in 1926 with the serial number 105050.
The third model ended with the serial number 572215 and differed from the first two in that it did not have a barrel bushing and from serial number 414896 a magazine safety lever was added.
Production of both calibers was discontinued in 1945.
The pistols were widely distributed worldwide and were acquired by the governments of the United States, Great Britain, and China, among others.
A total of nearly 900,000 pieces were produced in both calibers.
