It is suitable for use in hunting at night and during the day, for example, in fog or to track camouflaged game in dense underbrush.The SensorThe Mate LITE L38 thermal imaging attachment features a thermal sensor with a resolution of 384x288 px, with a pixel pitch of 12 µm. A NETD value of ≤15 mK ensures good thermal differentiation capability. The frame rate is 60 Hz, significantly improving the detection of moving objects. Compared to conventional 50 Hz detectors, the representation is smoother and more precise, with less noise and more detailed and contrast-rich images. The detection range with the 38 mm lens is 1,950 m, and the field of view at 100 m is 12.3x9.2 m.The DisplayThe good sensor, the shutterless imaging function, and the powerful processor with its image algorithms deliver uninterrupted results on the 1,920x1,200 px display, even with rapidly moving game. The menu navigation is intuitive. On the left side of the display are the individual menu items, and on the right are the respective specifications. The settings of the user interface – color palettes, reticle, brightness, and button layout – can be individually adjusted and saved in a profile.The DeviceThe 115 mm long and 399 g lightweight attachment has the battery compartment on top. It can be easily opened, making battery changes during use on the rifle very simple. A standard 18650 battery lasts for about 6 hours of operation. The silent controls are all located on the left side and are intuitive to operate. The lens cover fits securely on the device and can be completely folded back. The housing is made of a lightweight yet extremely robust magnesium alloy, it is waterproof, corrosion-resistant, and recoil-tested up to 7,000 joules.
