However, it can be used for much more than just long distances. Shooting with and without suppressors Shooting with and without muzzle brakes Shooting with different cartridges (shooting range, hunting, competition) Shooting at distances beyond the zero range (favorable sighting distance) Switching between dot and zero range during hunting The shift of the point of impact changes when using suppressors, muzzle brakes, and different types of ammunition. Markings on the ASV allow for quick adjustment of the reticle to the new conditions. Each ASV comes with a set of nine ballistic rings that can be exchanged for the neutral ring. These ballistic rings are differently scaled and cover all common calibers. To select the correct ballistic ring, Zeiss recommends using the ZEISS Hunting App, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play Store. In the "Ballistics" section, after entering the riflescope and ballistic data (manufacturer, caliber, bullet), information on the recommended ASV ring number, bullet trajectory, energy (J), and much more is provided. If a ring for distances over 400 m or 600 m is needed, a ring can be engraved for a fee through the ZEISS customer service. Depending on the used load, this ring can cover distances up to 1000 m and more.
