The FN 1906, also known as the "Baby Browning" or Modèle de Poche, is a compact semi-automatic pistol that has been produced since 1906 by the Belgian company Fabrique Nationale d’Herstal (FN). It is based on a design by John Moses Browning, arguably the most significant firearms designer of the 20th century. With its extremely handy size, reliable operating principle, and solid craftsmanship, the FN 1906 became one of the most popular civilian self-defense weapons of its time – and is today a sought-after collector's item of classic pocket pistols.
