Lightweight & Compact Design 

The ZEISS SFL 50 binoculars combine the excellent optical performance of 50 mm binoculars with the compact design of 42 mm models. This is achieved through an innovative optical design that utilizes thinner lens elements, smaller lens diameters, and reduced spacing between the lenses. The magnesium housing further contributes to weight reduction and ensures high durability. As a result, the binoculars offer comfortable and fatigue-free use over extended periods. 

Outstanding Optical Performance with UHD Concept 

The ZEISS SFL 50 binoculars provide outstanding optical performance thanks to the novel UHD concept. With a light transmission of 90% and a large entrance pupil of 50 mm, they deliver bright and clear images even in low light conditions. Additionally, the larger exit pupil enhances observation comfort and reduces eye fatigue. The natural color reproduction allows for precise identification of wildlife. Furthermore, the wide field of view and the short close focus limit of just 1.8 meters provide an intense observation experience. 
These advantages result from a perfectly balanced optical system. The ZEISS T* multi-coating maximizes brightness and color accuracy. Phase-corrected roof prisms and glasses with high transmission values enhance clarity. Extra-low-dispersion glasses minimize chromatic aberration, while advanced technologies such as Field Flattener Technology and aspherical lenses guarantee high resolution.

The ZEISS SFL 50 binoculars are designed for optimal ergonomics. The SmartFocus system allows for quick and precise focusing with just 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity. This ensures smooth operation without rattling or disturbing torque. The large focus wheel is ergonomically positioned to avoid overstretching the fingers. 
The weight of the binoculars is shifted towards the eyepiece, allowing for perfect balance in the hand and supporting long, fatigue-free observation. The comfortable eyecups made of soft rubber offer five adjustable positions and are easily removable and simple to clean. 

Robust and Durable Design 

The ZEISS SFL 50 binoculars feature a robust and durable design. The magnesium housing combines strength with low weight. The hydrophobic ZEISS LotuTec coating on the lenses ensures that water beads off without residue while repelling dirt and fingerprints. Additionally, the nitrogen filling prevents fogging on the inside. 
For added flexibility, the hinge cover allows for quick attachment to a tripod. Removable eyepiece caps and foldable objective covers protect the lenses from dirt and rain.

However, this is not a fixed recipe for a layer structure, but a technology that is constantly adapted to new glass materials and requirements and varies from lens to lens.

Even in wet weather, there are impressive things to observe in nature. For this, ZEISS has developed LotuTec®. A coating for the lenses of binoculars and spotting scopes that allows for unrestricted clear vision in any weather condition.
