At IWA 2018 in Nuremberg, Haenel expanded its range of Competition Rifles (CR) with the newly introduced CR308. With the CR in caliber .308 Winchester, the Suhl company presents the "bigger and stronger brother" of the CR variant. The dimensions of the rifle have been adapted to the caliber; otherwise, it functionally and in handling corresponds to the Haenel CR gas pressure loader series. The universal caliber .308 Winchester promises high performance reserves combined with a universal and widely used cartridge. Through this expansion of their product portfolio in the area of indirect gas pressure loaders, Haenel addresses both the civilian market and the governmental market.
Barrel lengths of 16.65” and 20” remain identical as with the CR223. In terms of weight, the CR308 is in the normal average with values between 3.35 kg and 3.6 kg. The direct trigger with a trigger weight of 3200 grams can optionally be replaced with a match trigger (trigger weight 1500 grams). Magazine capacity 10 cartridges.
