8 g red bismuth shot for more energy and 28 g tin-plated steel shot for optimal coverage as well as an increased hit rate result in 36 g pure, lead-free maximum performance. The 12/70 combines 3.8 mm strong bismuth shot with 3.5 mm soft iron shot. The heavier bismuth provides a high shock effect, while the large number of soft iron shots ensures great coverage. Bismuth is lead-free but heavier than soft iron and still softer than lead.

The front red shots effectively enhance the visibility of the shot cloud.
