The Stock
The Steyr Gams SM12 has a carbon skeleton stock that provides high stability and excellent ergonomics, ensuring extremely comfortable mounting, aiming, and shooting in every shooting position. The ergonomic grip, which feels pleasant in the hand due to its surface texture, and the height-adjustable buttstock ensure optimal contact for every optical system. The shooting hand remains completely relaxed, significantly increasing the hit rate. Carbon is very light yet robust, but its most important feature is its damping property, which maximally absorbs recoil.

The System
The system of the Gams SM12 is made of solid steel. The rifle is secured with a smooth hand tensioning system. The trigger is a pressure point-trigger combination. The removable plastic magazine has a capacity of four rounds. A Picatinny rail is available for mounting accessories.

The Barrel
The rifled 19-inch barrel (48.5 cm) of the Gams SM12 is fluted. The increased surface area of the barrel due to the fluting dissipates heat more quickly, preventing disturbing mirage even during rapid fire. Another advantage is a reduction in weight. The barrel is without sights and has a ½“ 28 UNEF muzzle thread.
