A legend! The pistol has been manufactured over three million times to date. In 1911, it was introduced as the 'U.S. Pistol, Caliber .45 Model of 1911' as a U.S. service weapon. Later, the Royal Navy, the Royal Flying Corps, and the Royal Air Force were also equipped with the pistol.
