Like all models in the 680 series, the Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting AS is characterized by its reliability and low maintenance requirements.The StockThe Beretta Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting AS features a stock made of oiled walnut with a height-adjustable comb. The forend with a schnabel and the pistol grip are equipped with a checkered texture. This ensures a high grip even in wet conditions. In addition to height, the AS version with Microcore stock pads also allows for individual adjustment of the length of the buttstock. It measures 37.2 mm including the supplied 18 mm stock pad. Stock pads of 13 mm, 23 mm, and 28 mm are available as options. The pads dampen recoil and provide a pleasant shooting experience.Action, Trigger, and Locking MechanismThe elegant floral laser engravings and the raised Beretta logo on the action of the hunting shotgun immediately catch the eye. Another elegant detail is the gold-colored trigger. On the safety slider, there is a switch that determines the selection of the barrel for the first shot with a lateral movement. The side-lock and ejector system of the over-and-under shotgun are extremely robust and reliable.Barrels and ChokesThe 686 Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting AS is equipped with Steelium Optima-Bore HP barrels. The cold-hammered barrels made of triple-alloyed steel are characterized by highly precise deep drilling and vacuum finishing. The Optima-Bore HP barrel geometry with an 80 mm transition cone is designed for optimal gas pressure flow. The coverage of the shot patterns is very uniform and of high density. 5 included OCHP chokes allow fine-tuning for all hunting distances as well as adaptation to various hunting and sporting shot templates. The 686 Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting AS features a ventilated 10 mm sight rail that tapers to 8 mm, as well as a plastic front sight.
