Many hunters have long used conventional anise oil as an attractant for a variety of game species.

Anise oil is very sensitive to atmospheric oxygen, which reduces its attraction effect and storage stability.
The high volatility of anise oil limits its duration of effect.
Anise oil solidifies at temperatures below 18°C, which means that especially in autumn and winter conventional anise oil must first be warmed before it can be applied.
