The Merger Duo supports multiple observation modes. The thermal imaging mode is used for detecting and observing animals in all weather conditions, while the digital image mode allows for improved identification of the target object in Full HD resolution. The "picture-in-picture" function enables the simultaneous display of images from both optical channels, with either the thermal or digital image taking precedence as desired.

The multispectral binocular Merger Duo reproduces complex scenes in a wide range of shades with evenly radiating, low-contrast objects such as the sky, grass, and water surfaces. By detailing and sharpening objects through software at various distances, the thermal image becomes highly informative. A manual increase in the sensitivity of the thermal image sensor improves quality when detecting animals under deteriorating observation conditions. A smoothing filter and a wide range of brightness and contrast settings allow for comfortable observation over extended periods.
