Why a lever-action repeater?
Since I had to switch from right to left due to health reasons and my 98 can now only be taken along in case of emergency (whatever that may be), I had to look for another weapon. It shouldn't be a "simple" left-handed weapon, as I hoped that with a new system I could learn to shoot better left-handed. Since I didn't want a "pump gun" and simple and safe handling was important to me, the selection quickly became very clear.
Reasons for the Browning BLR Tracker lever-action repeater were then:
- Hand tension
- quick shot sequence possible
- quick recognition of the condition (safe or ready to fire)
- no unusual caliber -> cheap practice ammunition = more shooting
