The Mercury Urban Sniper is a precision rifle designed for hunting and competition. The multi-radial barrel has a diameter of 22 mm at the muzzle and features a 5/8″x24 muzzle thread for attaching useful accessories such as a silencer or a muzzle brake. The system and barrel are blued to minimize unnecessary reflections and glare. The chamber handle has an interchangeable grip and generates speed advantages in all competitions and hunting situations, together with the external magazine release lever located directly on the trigger guard. The stable plastic stock fits comfortably in the hand and reduces vibrations. The cheek rest is fully adjustable and can be customized to individual preferences. Magazine capacity is 7 rounds. The multi-radial barrel profile (MRR) When comparing a traditional barrel with a polygonal and the multi-radial, the latter is ideal for both traditional partial jacket and full metal jacket bullets. In multi-radial barrels, two different radii alternate, providing geometrically positive support for the bullet without overstressing it. In fact, the bullets are pressure-formed to follow the circumference and are not cut as in traditional barrels, which extends the barrel's lifespan. Furthermore, there are no sharp corners like in other barrel systems where residues can accumulate, keeping the barrel cleaner and reducing wear. All tests conducted show: Multi-radial barrels shoot better and more accurately with conventional lead bullets and full metal jacket bullets in calibers 7.62 mm (.308) and 6.5 mm (.264) than traditionally shaped ones. At standard gas pressure, the exit velocity is higher than that of a conventional barrel—under certain conditions, by up to 12%. The bullet seals the bore better, preventing gas from escaping forward, which optimizes the effect of the driving energy. Additionally, friction between the bullet and barrel is minimized. The spatial arrangement has further improved due to the extremely tight production tolerances that must be adhered to in the manufacture of multi-radial barrels. The multi-radial barrel is ideally suited for the cold forging process. The consistency of the produced barrel profile is excellent, and the overall quality of the barrels has improved. The special barrel geometry at the barrel's entry in multi-radial barrels allows for a more precise and continuous guiding of the bullet through the chamber neck and bullet bore than is the case with conventional barrel systems—the bullet meets the barrel's rifling in the best way, reducing flight wear. Under the same conditions, less copper deposition occurs inside the multi-radial barrel, resulting in less cleaning required. And when cleaning is necessary, it is easier than with conventional barrels. The user can further enhance the performance of the multi-radial barrel simply by applying abrasive paste, without having to worry about ruining the barrel, as can be the case with traditional profiles. Robust safety The safety used locks both the trigger and the trigger block. It is a very secure system, as the locking of the trigger block is designed to be particularly robust. And when the trigger block is locked, the firing pin is essentially locked as well. Theoretically, a safety that directly locks the firing pin is safer, but due to the small size of the components, these parts are often less durable.
