The Weatherby Vanguard models have been manufactured by Howa in Japan since 1970 and are based on the well-known Howa 1500, with final assembly taking place at Weatherby in Wyoming. All Vanguards feature a 3-position safety, an adjustable trigger (two stage), and a fluted bolt. The Cerakote coating in "Tungsten" on the barrel and action and in "Armour Black" on the bolt and chamber sleeve, the Boyds Spike Camp stock made of painted laminated wood features a Monte Carlo cheek piece and a generous thumb hole.
