This pistol was one of the early Spanish pocket pistols and was developed for the civilian market. The 1911 models from Esperanza y Unceta are now rare, as many were later replaced by more advanced versions. The company later became known as Astra Unceta y Sia and produced well-known models like the Astra 200, which was based on early designs. This Esperanza Y Unceta has a German proof mark 1912-39 N under crown.
