With the image-stabilized APC 14x50 ED binoculars featuring an integrated Li-Ion battery from Kite Optics, you will get a steady and clear image in all observation situations. What advantages does image stabilization bring for wildlife observation? – Even with a 14x magnification and a large 50 mm objective, it generally makes sense to use a device with a stabilizer if you want to avoid the cumbersome use of a tripod during longer sessions. It also compensates for hand tremors that can occur after exertion, in cold weather, or after prolonged waiting at a hide. Kite Optics presents one of the best devices currently available with the image-stabilized binocular APC 14x50 ED.
The Stabilizer
The heart of the APC 14x50 ED binoculars is the second generation of the stabilizer developed by Kite, the KDGS-2 with its KT 3.0 processor. This achieves an enormous level of immersion. Image shake is reduced regardless of its cause, with an image stabilization angle of 2°, which is significantly more than comparable models' stabilizers.
The ED Optics
The optical ED/HD system delivers a high-contrast, sharp, and true-to-nature stabilized image without distortions. Chromatic aberration is reduced to an absolute minimum. The ED lenses are treated with the MHR Advance+ coating and ensure a light transmission of 86%. The field of view is 65 m at 1,000 m or 3.7°.
The Device
The APC 14x50 ED binoculars impress not only with their optical performance but also with their durability, even in harsh conditions in the field. The instrument is waterproof up to 1 m according to IPX7 standards. The sensitive electronics are completely sealed, and a nitrogen gas filling protects the interior from fogging. Even when using the binoculars in hot and humid regions, they remain fully functional. The operating temperature range is between -20 °C and 45 °C.
The Integrated Li-Ion Battery
With the integrated Li-Ion battery, the worry about having charged batteries is a thing of the past. The battery is simply charged using the included USB Type-C cable. The APC is also lighter than the AA version due to the integrated battery. Thanks to the effective power-saving mode of the APC binoculars, you have an operating time of 30 hours with average use. The device automatically goes into standby mode when not in use and is also automatically reactivated. For uninterrupted use, this mode can also be disabled.
