Ideally, however, the firearm should be left to air dry on the gun rest and then stored properly. The Teflon contained in the spray has a preservative effect. During air drying, the liquid components evaporate, leaving behind a protective Teflon layer. This primarily protects against corrosion, abrasion, and wear. All moving parts receive the necessary glide ability.
