In addition to the wool felt cleaners, VFG developed a special barrel cleaning felt – with additionally embedded brass fibers – the barrel cleaner intensive (VFG patent: P4109692.4.09). This is available in all common calibers, just like the wool felt cleaners. The barrel cleaner intensive combines the advantages of the wool felt cleaner with those of the bronze brush or steel wool, making it highly abrasive, elastic, and absorbent. This barrel cleaner guarantees even more efficient cleaning of the barrel interior (or also of chamber areas in revolver cylinders). This means that one can forgo the use of cleaning brushes, steel wool, or similar highly abrasive cleaning tools. With the barrel cleaners intensive, you can be assured that due to their optimally designed caliber size, material density, and elasticity, they truly penetrate deep into the grooves, absorb dirt particles thanks to their porous surface structure, and the contamination is not just "roughened or scraped" as with brushes.
