The DWM 1981 Argentino is an Argentine variant of the Mauser rifle model 1891, developed for the Argentine Army. It is based on the Mauser 1889 system and was manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) as well as Ludwig Loewe & Co. in Germany. The Modello 1891 was Argentina's first Mauser rifle and replaced old muzzle-loaders. They were produced in Germany between 1891 and around 1901 and were used until 1909. Original DWM 1891 rifles are now sought-after collector's items. Thanks to Mauser quality, they are often precise and reliable; however, one should pay attention to the locking mechanism due to the older system. This DWM 1891 Argentino has a Belgian proof mark and was imported by Orion.
