So is its CO2-powered airsoft brother: Up to two joules of muzzle energy and a magazine for 15 BBs guarantee reliable service on the field. The metal slide gives the GLOCK 22 Gen4 a solid weight, and collectors will appreciate the original markings from the gun manufacturer. The grip of the Glock 22 is made from a composite plastic that closely resembles the original. It is textured at all relevant points to ensure a secure grip even with wet or sweaty hands. The magazine release is easy to operate even for smaller hands, without being "wobbly." The slide catch engages cleanly after the last shot and can also be released firmly from both sides. In front of the trigger guard, there is a rail system, allowing for the attachment of all common pistol LLMs (dummies) and smaller scope cameras. In the middle of the rail, there is a continuous serial number embedded – just like the original. Above this, the F in a pentagon is subtly placed. The grip and slide are rounded at the front, making holstering with hard shell holsters significantly easier. The slide is completely made of metal and features a very well-executed coating. Only the three-point sight, which we already know from the Glock 19 and Glock 19X, as well as the backplate of the slide, are made of high-quality plastic. The front and rear areas of the slide have notches that make reloading or "power stroking" under difficult conditions much easier. The weapon can be disassembled like the original. Initially, releasing the safety latch may be a bit stiff, but it will loosen up over time. All parts, including the internals, fit very precisely and without play. Essential parts of the trigger group are made of steel, but all are made of metal. We recommend disassembling and cleaning the pistol after 1-2 days of play. Some models come from the factory heavily lubricated. It may be advisable to remove some of the lubricant from the weapon. The barrel and inner barrel, along with the HU chamber, fit cleanly together. Unfortunately, we found that the coating of the outer barrel wears off quickly on most VFC models. To counteract this wear, we recommend applying a few drops of lubricant to the chamber. The trigger of the Glock 22 features, just like the original, a trigger safety and breaks crisply. The reset is also virtually unbeatable for a pistol "out of the box." A quick and controlled rate of fire is absolutely no problem with this airsoft replica. The included CO² magazine holds 15 shots.
