Heckler & Koch MP7 Personal Duty Knife PDK

Military utility knives have always been used more as tools for everyday tasks in the field and service rather than as weapons. Special tenders for such knives are rare, but there are some examples like the M1880 Hunting Knife and the M1890 Intrenching Knife of the US Army, the combat and utility knife 45 of the Wehrmacht, and the MOD-Knife of the British Army.

The HK MP7 Personal Duty Knife PDK follows this tradition and is designed for versatile tactical and practical tasks for the army and authorities. It meets the requirements for a utility knife as well as for modern outdoor, bushcraft, and hunting knives. Named after the submachine gun HK MP7, it adopts its ergonomic and functional characteristics such as grip texture, maneuverability, high-quality workmanship, and reliability.
The universal black-coated spearpoint blade is made of Swedish steel 14C28N, which exhibits high hardness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance due to manganese and nitrogen. This enhances shock and fracture toughness as well as resharpenability.
The tang runs completely through the handle, which increases stability without leaving the end exposed, allowing for pressure or light strikes with the heel of the hand.
The handle of the HK MP7 PDK is made of robust, glass-fiber reinforced nylon (FRN) and is firmly molded, making it nearly indestructible. To optimally utilize the knife in various situations, a modular carrying system with a Kydex sheath has been developed. The knife sits securely and deeply in the custom-fit sheath, so no additional closure is necessary. Depending on the need, either a stable nylon belt loop or a MOLLE-compatible steel clip can be attached.
