Helmet of Robert Bruce early 14th century made of 1.6 mm steel and adorned with a riveted brass crown including chain mail.
The 4-in-1 chain mesh consists of 1.6 mm thick, unriveted round steel rings with an inner diameter of approximately 9 mm. A punched leather strip is firmly sewn to the removable mail, which is attached at the lower edge of the helmet via a so-called Vervelles and secured with a thin leather cord. This allows the helmet mail to be removed or reattached. The inside is blackened and equipped with a thin adjustable leather inlay, the adjustable chin strap made of brown leather is fitted with a brass buckle with an antique finish.
