German basket hilt rapier with scabbard from the early 17th century with a curved guard. The rapier is equipped with a narrow, very pointed blade made of EN45 spring steel with a diamond-shaped cross-section and a sharp tip. The edge is not sharpened, and the full tang is screwed at the grip end with a steel nut.
The basket guard with an S-shaped crossbar and a single-sided ring is made of mild steel, as is the pommel. The grip section consists of a wooden core and a wrapping of brass wire and twisted steel wire, including a wooden scabbard covered with black leather with a mouthpiece and tip band made of steel.
