Description

Gladius of the Roman Legionnaires Type Mainz Fulham with sheath from the 1st century AD.

Roman sword with a wide, double-edged blade with a flat diamond-shaped cross-section forged from EN45 spring steel (neither hardened nor heat-treated). With its parallel straight edges and long pointed tip, the blade corresponds to a classic gladius. The blade tang is screwed to the end of the grip with a brass nut. The grip is made of bone imitation, while the crossguard and pommel are made of wood. The crossguard is equipped on the blade side with a brass plate.

Delivery includes a brown wooden leather sheath with ornate brass fittings, a pierced mouthpiece, horizontal bands with carrying rings, and a frame or continuous side edging that ends with a tip knob. The front plate at the mouthpiece features a geometric, sun-shaped cut-out motif, and the V-shaped tip band is adorned with a pattern of stylized symmetrically arranged curls and topped with a palmette.
