Ninja Iaito John Lee this Iaito is a blunt practice sword with a dull blade made of hardened stainless 420 steel. As long as it is in the scabbard, it is indistinguishable from a normal katana. Only when drawn does the shortened blade reveal itself.
The laido sport deals with the art of drawing the sword and established attack techniques, but as a formal exercise. Typically, the Iaito, a blunt practice sword, is used.
