After ten years, the gunsmiths at J.P. Sauer & Sohn have finally launched the successor to their successful model, the Sauer 404. The Sauer 505 repeating rifle features a solid steel housing, which, due to optimal milling, has a weight of only 732 g, an ergonomically shaped stock, and a cold-hammered barrel, making it a hunting rifle that is second to none. In the Elegance configuration, the focus is on the beauty of the hunting rifle. Sauer describes its 505 model as "the most beautiful repeating rifle in the world" – with this equipment, that could very well be true.
DLC Coating
In the Elegance version, the surfaces of the barrel and housing are refined with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond-like Carbon," meaning "diamond-like carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components are made particularly resistant and very smooth.

Sun Cut
The bolt of your Sauer 505 repeating rifle in the Elegance version is enhanced with a sun cut. In this process, the surface is worked with a grinding wheel in such a way that a sunbeam-like iridescence radiates from the center. When you move the treated surface, the angle of incidence of the light changes, and the ground area appears to rotate in a circle. The ball of the chamber grip is knurled and adorned with the Sauer screw.

The Stock
Its name already hints at it: The elegantly black ErgoMax Black stock of this rifle version of the Sauer 505 promises you maximum ergonomics. At the same time, it is elegantly designed. The stock length is 36.5 mm. Polymer is a very durable plastic, and adverse environmental conditions are not an issue with your Sauer 505 ErgoMax Black. The material is lightweight. In combination with the ErgoMax Black stock, your Sauer 505 is a solid and robust all-round hunting rifle.

The System: Steel Housing and Bolt
The system of the Sauer 505 consists of a solid steel housing and a one-piece bolt, also made of steel and crafted from a single piece. This results in low friction, leading to a smooth chambering and quiet cycling.

The Manual Safety
The manual safety of the Sauer 505 rifle has undergone further development, both in terms of usability and safety. An extension of the cocking path requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, you can cock your rifle just before the shot, and just as easily relax it afterward to unload.

Trigger
The Sauer 505 rifle features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings, ensuring a crisp break and the exact trigger weight you desire. The four weight settings are 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g. The adjustment is made with the "Sauer Universal Key" while the fore-end is uncocked. With a trigger that is always dry and without creep, the risk of a shot going awry due to glitches is nearly zero. In this version, the trigger guard is made of robust aluminum.

The Barrel
The cold-hammered barrel of the Sauer 505 rifle allows for extremely precise results when shooting. The specifications of the barrel depend on the caliber size you have chosen. The barrel is equipped with an M15x1 muzzle thread and is delivered without sights.

Magazine
The magazine is made of polymer, making it lighter. The magazines are designed for the chosen calibers and hold between 2 to 5 cartridges, depending on the version. An unintentional release of the magazine button is prevented by the integrated magazine safety MagLock.
