The Karabiner 31 was introduced in 1931 as standard armament for the Swiss Army. The Swiss Army was the first army to introduce straight-pull repeaters as standard. With the decision for this weapon, it is undeniable that Switzerland was technically decades ahead of its neighboring countries in the field of military repeaters. Although the Karabiner 31 was never used in a military conflict, Swiss rifles and carbines are well known for their very good precision and shooting performance.
