This allows for highly precise shots. The muzzle diameter is 17 mm, and the muzzle is fitted with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It has a smooth profile, and its length varies between 47 cm and 62 cm depending on the caliber choice. The barrel of the Sauer 505, like its other steel surfaces, is effectively protected against corrosion by plasma nitriding.
