Repeater rifle, Moschette Ballila, F.M.B Grazian (Verona), cal. 6mm blank, GIL (Gioventù Italiana del Littorio). The repeater rifle of the type Moschette Ballila was used from 1931 by the members of the Gioventù Italiana del Littorio (Youth of the Lictor). This formation was the youth organization of the fascist "Blackshirts" under Mussolini and thus the counterpart to the Hitler Youth. Essentially, it was a significantly scaled-down Mannlicher-Carcano repeating system for the purpose of training the fascist youth of Italy, who began their training as early as 6 years old. In stark contrast to the firearms available to the Hitler Youth, the Ballila carbine, while equipped with a folding bayonet, was otherwise only designed to fire 6mm blank cartridges. Thus, the barrel has neither grooves nor lands.
The system sleeve is marked with the coat of arms of the Gioventù Italiana del Littorio and the year of manufacture 1939, as well as the manufacturer F.M.B. Grazian from Verona. The condition of the weapon is good considering its age, with light to moderate signs of use and corrosion. The corresponding bayonet and cleaning rod are not present, but the web strap is included. There is no valid proof of proofing.
