It is also designed with particular attention to shooters participating in IPSC competitions, where precision and speed are crucial. As a hunting companion, the Beretta is equally a reliable backup pistol.

Robust, fast, and precise
The lighter full steel Vertec frame and its Brigadier slide with characteristic serrated grip grooves bring the weight of the 92X Performance Defensive RDO to 1,210 g. Rapid fire is facilitated by the skeletonized hammer with a competition-standard hammer spring and the Xtreme-S trigger mechanism, which reduces the reset time of the trigger by more than a third. The firing pin block ensures absolute drop safety. An enlarged magazine release contributes to quick magazine changes. The match trigger lever has a precise reference point for second-accurate shots.

Ergonomic handling
The grip with its checkered pattern structure allows for intuitive control of the 92X Performance Defensive RDO and ensures precise target acquisition. The extended beavertail on the grip provides a very good tactile feel in the hand. The magazine with magwell has a very large rubber pad to give the shooting hand more support and protect the magazines during quick changes. The safety on the frame is ambidextrous for use by both right- and left-handed shooters and can be adjusted to different hand types as well as the various IPSC divisions. A Picatinny rail for mounting accessories is located at the front underside.
