The gun has a perfectly preserved high-gloss finish on the slide and barrel with barrel block. The grip frame is made of aluminium, anodised except for the small area where the serial number was applied. In this area there is a black lacquer coating, which was removed to read the serial number. The slide bears the following inscription; the factory acceptance marks circle with dot and star as well as the Walther ribbon and furthermore Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. P 38 Cal.9 mm and the digits 492 for the last three digits of the serial number, whereby these are 402 on the grip frame. It can be assumed that the grip frame and the slide were once interchanged. On the right side of the breech is the proof mark eagle above N. The grip bears the serial number 305402 and the acceptance circle with dot on the left side above the front trigger guard end and the proof mark eagle N of the proof house Ulm/D. from the year 1999 on the right side of the grip in the front area. The barrel block bears the proof mark eagle N. The bolt is marked with the proof mark eagle above N and 6 r. The weapon has the usual black plastic grip panels with chequering. There is a magazine in the pistol, which is marked with a Walther ribbon and P 1 9mm on the left side.
