The newly designed Mauser HSr is an evolution of the legendary Mauser HSc and is manufactured in Germany as a solid all-metal weapon using the latest production methods. The designation HSr stands in the old tradition for "hammer cocking rimfire pistol." Constructively, the developers of this pistol have taken new paths and utilized the basic design of the world-renowned SIG® P232. From this model, the designers adopted the decocking lever function as well as the disassembly function to separate the slide from the frame. The manual side safety lever again features a familiar Mauser HSc design element.

The associated firing pin safety and drop safety meet the current requirements of modern pistol design. The Mauser HSr, due to its slim design, is particularly suitable for all types of concealed carry.
